INCOMING VET TECH STUDENT CLASS MEMBERS TO RECEIVE PERSONALIZED STETHOSCOPES
In combination with the Heart of America Kennel Club's establishment of a Veterinary Technology
scholarship at Maple Woods Community College, the kennel club committed to give a high-quality stethoscope
to each member of the college's incoming Vet Tech class. The stethoscopes will be engraved with the
student's name and will be their personal possession to use during their academic and professional careers.
Presentation of the first set of stethoscopes took place during the 2009/2010 class' scheduled classroom
activities on August 26, 2009. Janet and Dick Rees, co-authors of the proposal establishing the program,
represented the club at the ceremony and handed each student their personal stethoscope. Dr. Chris Morrow,
the Vet Tech Program Coordinator, and each faculty member also received an engraved stethoscope.
The kennel club recognizes the need for appropriate equipment during a student's educational experience
as well as during their professional career and is pleased to be able to make this contribution to the
Maple Woods Vet Tech program. By engraving each scope with the student's name and the club's acronym
(HOAKC), kennel club members want the students to know that we accompany them in their daily routine with
best wishes for their success.
